Publication KSSG-OKS II - House 10
Building monograph. 2021
DESCRIPTION
KSSG-OKS II - House 10, ed. Marko Sauer and Christoph Wieser, Verlag park books, 2021
In 2011, Zurich architect Fawad Kazi and the planning consortium KSSG-OKS won the competition for the extension project of the St.Gallen Cantonal Hospital and the new building for the Eastern Switzerland Children's Hospital. Major extensions and new buildings will be completed by 2028, completely transforming the entire site. This building monograph, comprising a total of five elegant volumes, documents the project, which is significant in terms of urban planning, architecture and hospital operations.
The second volume is dedicated to House 10, which forms the end of the hospital grounds to the north. It is connected to the site via a sophisticated engineering passerelle and is used as a building for outpatient clinics. Its structure allows for flexible use so that the new building can be adapted to the changing needs of St.Gallen Cantonal Hospital in the future. Design elements that will also characterize the subsequent buildings are already being used for the interior fit-out of House 10. (Publisher park books)
