DESCRIPTION In 2015, I stayed for four days at the FIAT Lingotto car factory in Turin, which was built by Matté Trucco between 1916 and 1923 and transformed by Renzo Piano between 1991 and 2003. This round-the-clock stay led to an intensive examination of the building, gradually transforming it from a place of study to a place to live.
I focused on the roof landscape, the façades, the building structure and the ramps. The adaptability of the former industrial building was also of great interest. In addition to a hotel, it now also houses a museum, a university and a shopping center. (Fawad Kazi)
